Our New Name: Wild Friends

Two years ago, Erika and I made our first jar of peanut butter. It was plain, unsalted... and totally delicious.

I'm not sure exactly what made us decide to try adding new ingredients to create new flavors, but whatever it was, it's not an exaggeration to say that day changed both our lives.

There have been many exciting moments in the course of our years running this company, but, in the end, it all comes back to that very first day in February 2011. Two best friends, having a great Sunday afternoon, enjoying the wonderful simplicity of cooking together.

As we have been looking back at the last two years and reflecting how far we've come, we have also been looking forward. We've been asking questions about what we'd like to accomplish in the next one, two or five years. Who do we want to be as a company?

We chose our new name, Wild Friends, with the future in mind -- the potential of new products, new woodland creatures, and other new horizons. We chose it to celebrate how closely linked the company's success is with the strength of our friendship. We chose it to call out the wild flavors we create, and the friendly ingredients we use.

Of course, we still love squirrels (especially our adorable logo), and we don't plan to leave our favorite little animal behind. The new name is all about opening the doors to new possibilities, rather than limiting ourselves.

We'll be announcing even more changes in weeks to come, including a website with even more recipe and media content, an awesome new web store, and more frequent updates from Erika and myself.

Thanks so much for following us along on this wild journey.

  1. Congratulations on your new name! So exciting...love it and the story behind the decision. Can't wait for the web store. I've been wanting to try your nut butters for the longest time but I live in Europe which makes it impossible to get hold of the good stuff! I hope the web store will include shipping to Europe?!

  2. Sampled your nut butter at the Wilsonville Costco bought the Chocolate Coconut Peanut Butter and Cinnamon Raisin now I'm hooked but at Costco they don't have those flavors so any stores around here that I can get them?

    1. They have a selection of flavors at the Haggen in Tualatin.
