Whether you're with friends mingling over the flicker of flames while someone strums on the guitar or bonding with family amidst sticky fingers and smeared chocolate grins, crafting s'mores together captures the warmth and fun of summertime.
I say crafting because it really is an art! Everyone has their own technique of s'moring. I'm the kind of girl who goes for the crisp, gold-tinged, slightly browned outer marshmallow with a gooey middle, attainable only by the patience of roasting over embers. Then there are those who swear by sticking the skewer right into the flame to achieve prime charred crispiness. More often than not though, mine just ends up plopping to the bottom of the fire pit after a moment of distraction in which my marshmallow bursts into flames.
Then there's the whole chocolate ordeal. To melt, or not to melt? That is the question!
Regardless of your roasting style, there's one thing every s'more artist should add to their campfire combo at least once in their life- almond butter! I'm telling you, it takes your s'mores from kindergarten macaroni project to the level of a Picasso masterpiece.
But don't take my word for it- try it out for yourself!
